My parents Gus and Mary Rickette came from Mississippi to Chicago where they settled down and had 12 children; 9 girls and 3 boys. In 1963, they decided to become entrepreneurs by opening G&G Chicken on the westside of Chicago. Then moved to Madison and Homan and opened Royal Chicken where they fed everyone including the Black Panthers in 1968.
Royal Chicken Later got burned down during the Martin Luther King Riots, but that didn’t slow them down. They went on to form many other businessess on the westside like Mary Western Wholesalers, Lot’s of Chicken, Bo Bo’s Chicken, BBQ Kingdom, Uncle Remus and Rickette’s Restaurant on Madison and Laramie. Our parents have always instilled the spirit of giving back to our community and the less fortunate. To this day we still do.

Tiered Royalty Fee: 4.5% (for annualized sales under $300K) 5% (for annualized sales of $300-450K) 5.5% (for annualizes sales of $450K+)
