We believe that all things can be accomplished through strength and with physical strength comes empowerment and an enhanced quality of life.
We are here because we see things differently.
We are here to encourage you to see yourself differently.
We are here to change the world.
Too often, the world has taught you to focus on what you aren't.
We'll focus on what you are.
You are strong. We will help you to be stronger.
You are unique. We understand that and we'll treat you that way.
We have no scales, no tape measures and no charts showing what "is normal".
We'll never measure you, weigh you or judge you.
You'll never be compared to anyone but yourself.
We have only one goal for you: an improved quality of life.
That may mean getting stronger, getting leaner, adding muscle, losing fat, increased physical capacity, more discipline or more self-love.
Most likely it will be a little bit of all of those.
"When fear turns to hope and pain becomes purpose, we awaken the warrior within and a new life begins."- Scott Baumann (Founder and CEO)
Iron Legion will undoubtedly be one of the most recognizable brands in the fitness segment. Through a combination of market experience, rewarding franchise partnerships and a new
In a world of cardio workouts, weight-loss, bootcamps and kickboxing; Iron Legion brings a unique concept to the boutique fitness arena. The focus is simple- empowerment through strength. With powerful branding and an emphasis on STRENGTH, the Iron Legion Strength Co. is the only franchise in the space with a focus purely on authentic barbell-based strength training.
The goal is to bring a new and unique experience to the customer (and franchise buyer that wants to enter this industry). The Iron Legion Strength Co. is the opposite of the outdated membership model that signs people up for memberships and hopes they never show up. Instead, this company is committed to customer experience, client retention and results.
From the beginner to the advanced exerciser, Iron Legion helps ordinary people to get stronger and to discover the many benefits, mental and emotional, to physical strength. As a coaching gym, where every client is working with a gym in some capacity and offering both one-on-one and semi-private training sessions, this business captures the market of customers who have not been successful with or who are disinterested in the large, membership model gym scene. The emphasis on strength-coaching, strong branding and incredible customer experience that Iron Legion provides is what differentiates this business from its competition.
While currently operating its prototype in Westbrook, Maine, as well as preparing to franchise the business for replication, Iron Legion established policies and procedures that implemented best practices and created 100% growth in the company’s second full year in business. Through franchising, the company will plan to mimic this success and expand across New England. After saturation of surrounding markets in the Northeastern United States, Iron Legion will strive to become a national brand.
The business launched in 2015 under the guidance of fitness guru and entrepreneur, Scott Baumann. It is staffed with energetic and motivated management and well-compensated instructors who have been fully trained in all of the Iron Legion policies, procedures and practices. The Iron Legion lives by the mantra “Lift Heavy Be Kind” and the owners and staff members all embody that concept.
Iron Legion delivers a strong, new concept that combines pricing that encourages proper incentive structures with the simple goal of offering a sanctuary to those who are dissatisfied with the typical gym experience. Iron Legion Strength Co. has proven training protocols, branding, apparel and marketing materials and the potential to offer a line of white label Iron Legion products.
The Iron Legion model was built to overcome the shortcomings and negative customer experiences associated with many fitness business models. Franchisees will be responsible for selling the value of Iron Legion. In lieu of memberships and off-putting contracts, the Iron Legion runs on a pay-as-you-go model which incentivizes the staff to continuously over-deliver and provide value. Actual pricing will vary based on specific location demographics and local market pricing but all franchisees will follow the pricing structure(s) as stated below.
The physical location of the business model will be a fixed retail location that is simple in nature and designed to provide an authentic and exhilarating strength-training experience to the customer. The Iron Legion team will use MindBodyOnline software to run the business operations and will work relentlessly to continuously improve the effectiveness of the operational side of the business.
Often times, fitness studios and gyms are opened by someone with a niche area of training expertise, but they typically lack the business savvy to run the marketing and operational side of the business. Iron Legion allows someone with a passion and background in fitness, to plug right into a proven system of marketing, administrative procedures, and management. This allows the franchisee to focus on the customer and do what they do best. The franchisees should have the necessary skills to manage the business as a whole and the Iron Legion franchise system will ease this transition.
The franchised units will range from 2,500 to 5000 square feet of space and will be designed and outfitted in a way to authentically replicate the original location. The space will house a gym floor with free weights and the necessary accessories, including a welcome and retail area, office space and optional showers and changing rooms. Each space will be carefully selected and designed with guidance from the franchisor depending upon the location, space available and other considerations.
Iron legion focuses on strength, self-confidence, and improved quality of life. They don’t measure success by the scale, but by the weight on the bar.
Iron Legion’s most popular option is the semi-private group training where groups of up to six men or women train under the supervision of their coach. This option gives a client the supervision, instruction, and motivation of their own personal coach at a much lower cost.
For those who prefer more personal instruction, Iron Legion also offers one-on-one sessions and partner sessions, where two people can work with one coach.
The best way to determine which approach is best for each individual is to attend a free consultation and training session. That will give them a chance to take a test drive and give the Iron Legion team a chance to get to know more about the individual and recommend the course of action that would be best.
Although pricing will vary from location to location, the prototype offers the following pricing:
Private (1 on 1)
Iron Legion Strength Co. sits in a great position in the franchise market with a strong operating model in place and a strong differentiation from the rest of the competition in the franchise marketplace. Iron Legion Strength Co. is a unique and high-performing exception within a lucrative industry.
Structure
The company’s operating model is simple and has been structured with well-defined processes and systems in place, allowing for ease of replication. Initial training will be held and the original location headquarters, enabling franchisees to see the physical location and feel the authentic Iron Legion Strength Co. vibe and design.
Financial
Iron Legion Strength co. achieves a very strong return on investment in comparison to the rest of the franchise industry in general. With the implementation of a structured and systematized business model, the growth achieved by Iron Legion Strength Co. in markets across the U.S. is expected to be significant and impressive.
A member of Iron Legion field support staff will visit each franchisee according to the following schedule:
Year 1 – Monthly
Year 2 – Bimonthly
Year 3 and Thereafter – Quarterly
It is estimated that Iron Legion will need to hire one field supervisor for every 20-25 franchises in the field. This is a relatively “de-leveraged” support model which should allow for the high quality of support and guidance provided to franchisees. The Franchisor will incorporate a formalized mechanism for ensuring quality control among franchisees that will be implemented by these field supervisors. Designated staff members will perform supervision of field support duties.
In addition to field support, members of the Franchisor organization will provide the services listed below. The Franchisor must assign a specific person to cover each of these support areas (one person can be assigned to more than one task). The names of support staff members who are officers, directors, or have significant management responsibility in conjunction with franchisees will be disclosed in the Iron Legion Franchise Disclosure Document. The Franchisor has the responsibility to assign a person/people to each task during the development of the franchise program.
Operational Support
The Franchisor will provide ongoing training and support in many areas critical to the success of the franchisee's business, including unit operations and maintenance, customer-service techniques, product ordering, suggested pricing guidelines and administrative procedures.
Marketing Support
Iron Legion will coordinate development of advertising materials and strategies for the benefit of all members of the franchise network. It will also supply franchisees with consumer marketing plans and materials for use at the local or regional level, and retains the right to approve all local advertising materials that the franchisee chooses to develop. Eventually, all marketing materials and collateral may be uploaded on to the cloud that would provide the franchisees the ability to download documents whenever needed.
Franchisee Purchasing
The Franchisor or its affiliate will negotiate quantity discounts on behalf of all of its members, passing some or all of these savings on to the franchisees. This will include elements such as apparel, business supplies, marketing materials and other needed items for operating an Iron Legion location.
Accounting/Audit/Legal
Reporting directly to administration, this department is responsible for the financial and legal oversight of franchisees. Iron Legion will be providing support and guidance to franchisees on how to manage their books, but they will ultimately be instructed to hire their own CPA for their individual business.
Ongoing Research and Development
Iron Legion management and leadership will continue to research methods and techniques for franchise operations (including purchasing and promotional schemes) that enhance unit-level profitability.
