Harlem Zen gives you a piece of this untapped market that strongly caters to African/AA, Latino, Indian and Asain or females in these communities. This brand is rapidly growing to be a household name and a known solution for unwanted hair and skin disorders.
Take advantage of this fast-growing industry.
In 2004, more than 14 million laser hair removal treatments were performed, generating over $3.5 billion. In 2009, the industry is expected to grow to over $5 billion in sales (Source: Worldwide Epilation Market Study).
Our founder and lead esthetician, Angela McTair, struggled with chronic, confidence-destroying acne well into her adult years. As a scientist, she knew there were ways to chemically balance and control the skin, so she tested product after product in hopes of healing her own skin. After she discovered that most products were filled with irritating ingredients that only worsened the situation, she set off on a mission.
After years of study, an aesthetics licensure, and certifications in chemical peeling, microdermabrasion, laser and manual lymphatic drainage, Angela founded Harlem Zen. Bringing together nature and technology, Harlem Zen uses cold-pressed organic products and simple, inflammation-reducing formulas and the most advanced laser technology to soothe the skin and ease it into submission.
Harlem Zen opened in Harlem, NY in 2015, initially renting out a suite location but quickly evolved (conceptually and geographically) to open a brick and mortar location in Atlanta, GA in August of 2017. Since then, Angela has implemented professional processes and systems and has grown the business a massive amount since its opening a year ago. In addition, she has an MBA from Wharton with a focus on marketing and strategic management.
Over the past year, Harlem Zen has become one of Georgia’s premier skin studios for women and men of every background. The company has a great 400 square foot space in Georgia that will be a great example of what is possible when it comes to replicating the services in new markets.
